Injectable treatment for lines between the brows
Dr. Katherine Hein is among the top cosmetic surgeons in the Boston, MetroWest, Wellesley, and Sudbury area and she offers Dysport® injections at her Accurate Aesthetics Plastic Surgery practice.
What is Dysport®?
Dysport® is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines in adults less than 65 years of age. With a precise injection given by a qualified specialist, Dysport® stops the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines. The untreated facial muscles still contract normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as laughing, in untreated areas.
With Dysport® there is little to no downtime after injection. Both Dysport® and BOTOX® Cosmetic are neurotoxins that, when expertly injected, relax the muscles and prevent those muscles from contracting which contributes to wrinkles and frown lines.
- Lower Face (marionette lines, pre-jowl folds, chin wrinkles, smile lines, and the corners of the mouth)
- Jawline
- Hands
What can you expect from your Dysport® procedure?
The Dysport® procedure consists of several tiny injections in the desired area. No anesthesia is required. Discomfort is minimal and brief, and it is unlikely that you will develop significant side effects. Some people develop slight temporary bruising at the injection site that can easily be covered by makeup. You may resume normal activities directly following treatment.
Within a few days you will see a marked improvement which may continue to improve for as long as a week and should last up to four months.
